Due to scheduling conflicts, IC Imagine is unable to offer a lacrosse camp this summer. However, the following camps are happening locally and are wonderful places to learn to game and develop skills and then bring to IC Imagine!

• Backyard Lacrosse (at IC Imagine!)

  • What is it? - Think about your typical pick-up basketball, soccer or two-hand touch football but even better…lacrosse!

    Backyard Lax provides a stress free, fun, and competitive environment for kids and adults to try new things, make mistakes, build confidence, learn to communicate with teammates, and receive direct coaching as they do it.

  • Dates - July 9th - August 18th (off 7/28 & 8/6)

  • Times - Tuesdays 5-7pm &

    Sundays 1-3pm

  • Location - IC Imagine Turf Field

  • Ages - 5 to 95 (yes, adults are welcome!); bring a friend!

  • Cost - $125 season or $20 per/session

  • Equipment - sneakers

    and a lacrosse stick (if you don't own one, one will be provided!)

  • Format - 1-2 “Skills of the Day!”

     THEN mini scrimmages (play is done with tennis balls)

• Montreat Lacrosse Summer Camp (Overnight/Day Camp)

  • Dates - July 15-18

  • Times - 9:00am - 9:00pm (day campers)

  • Location - Montreat College Campus

  • Cost - $575 Overnight $475 Day Camp

  • Ages - 9 - 18 year old; boys only

• Asheville Empire Lacrosse Summer Camp (Day Camp)

  • Dates - July 29-August 2

  • Times - 9:00am - 3:30pm (Full Day) 12:00pm (Half Day)

  • Location - Buncombe County Sports Park (West Asheville)

  • Cost - $350 FULL DAY $225 HALF DAY

  • Ages - 5 - 14 Year olds; boys & girls

Both boys and girls welcome!  No experience necessary. This program introduces students to the game of lacrosse through fun skills and scrimmages.  We use lacrosse sticks and tennis balls, so no pads, helmets or other equipment is necessary.  Equipment is provided. Program staffed and lead by Asheville Empire Lacrosse.

  • 6th - 11th graders

  • No experience required

• Practices

  • Begin Monday, March 4; end Wednesday, May 8

  • Mondays from end of school until 5 pm

  • Wednesdays from end of school until 3:30 pm

  • Student-athletes meet on the outdoor court and walk up to the upper field with a coach

  • Pick up at the Blue House

• Games/Scrimmage

  • Monday, April 22 - 4 pm at Cane Creek Middle

  • Wednesday, May 8 - 4 pm at Cane Creek Middle

  • Saturday, May 11 - 9:30 am at Fletcher Park

• Eligibility

  • Students must be registered and compliant on Final Forms with all paperwork, health forms, etc.  If your child needs a physical, contact Blue Ridge Health's school-based clinic.

• Gear/Equipment

  • The school will be purchasing helmets, gloves, chest pads, sticks and elbow pads to provide to students who don't have equipment.  Student-athletes who have their own equipment are welcome to bring it.

• Student Responsibility/What to Bring to Practice

  • Change of clothes

  • Cleats

  • Protective cup (boys only)

  • Mouthguard

  • Water bottle (filled!)

  • Snack for after school
