Upper School Theater
ITS state competition:
Some of our amazing theater students were given the chance to participate in this year's ITS state festival in Greenville NC on March 7th through the 9th.
We had a very busy 3 days at Eastern Carolina University competing, taking workshops, and watching one-acts with hundreds of theatre students from around the state of North Carolina.
Mr. Campbell also ran a popular Improv workshop on both nights of the competition.
The results for this competition were:
Excellents: Analiz Bradley and Gayatri de Becker
Superiors: Remi Eudy, Malachi Mena, and Sofia Nilo
The students who earned Superiors are being given the opportunity to move onto the International competition, which takes place in June at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
This was our second year of the competition and first time going to State. We couldn’t be more proud of our students and our program!
We’re just finishing up Week 7 of our rehearsal process and we’re very excited to begin putting this play on stage in the IPAC after Spring Break.

K-2nd
Our youngest artists experimented with color in two exciting projects. Inspired by Bridget Riley’s op art, they used complementary colors to create striking visual effects. In their Georgia O’Keeffe project, they practiced blending analogous colors to create soft, flowing transitions in their artwork.
3rd
Students explored the bold patterns of Bridget Riley’s op art, using complementary colors to create eye-catching designs. They also developed their visual storytelling skills by designing their own comic strips.
4th Grade
Op art took center stage in 4th grade as students studied the mesmerizing work of Bridget Riley. They created their own optical illusions, experimenting with pattern and contrast. In addition, they practiced visual storytelling by creating original comic strips, bringing their characters and ideas to life.
5th Grade
Students have been sculptors! Inspired by Alberto Giacometti and Ernie Barnes, they created expressive figure sculptures that capture movement and emotion. These unique sculptures showcase their creativity and craftsmanship.
Middle School Visual Art
We are right in the middle of our self portrait project. Students have been working hard to practice the techniques needed to draw themselves. The following drawings are from the practice work that has been completed so far.
Upper School Visual Art
