Lower School Families,
What a great week our students have had back at 110 Champion Way! We are glad to have everyone back and are looking forward to full school days this coming week. This means the car line opens at 7:15 and class begins at 8 am.
Kirby the Kingfisher is looking forward to celebrating Spirit Week Nov. 4th - 8th. We hope all of our lower school Kingfishers will join in this K-12 experience!
It has been great to be back on campus this week and have your students in our classrooms. We have been able to dive right back in where we were before Fall Break. As we have spoken and checked in with many of you, we have heard similar concerns to those our teachers have shared with us about student learning and the impacts of the school closure. Remember that we all have a shared goal: academic excellence for all students. We continue to work closely with each of our teachers, interventionists and assistants to support our students’ learning and are confident that we can mitigate the impacts of the school closure through high quality learning activities, continued targeted instruction, pacing guide adjustments/updates, and the best practices our teachers use every day. We are also exploring other things we can do as a school and look forward to sharing those with our school community!
We have moved our second annual Kirby's Dive Day to the spring, now scheduled for April 24th. Please stay tuned for more details after we return from Winter Break.
We hope you will join us for Open House on Thursday, November 14th at 5:30 pm. This evening provides a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher as well as other lower school families. We will also share ideas and resources about better supporting your student.
We are still working on membership for our Parent Advisory Council. If you applied earlier this spring/summer/fall, there is no need to reapply. If you are interested in applying or would like more information, visit our Advisory Council webpage.
