Middle School Newsletter

Middle School Families,

We are so excited to see our Kingfishers on Monday and welcome them back to school. As a reminder, for the week of 10/28, we will be on a two-hour delay schedule. Students will have all eight classes on Monday. Arrival will begin at 9:15 and school will start at 10. Dismissal times will be as normal.

As your student returns to school, their teachers are ready to welcome them back and re-establish routines in their classrooms. Upon their return to school, faculty spent time refreshing their understanding of the term resiliency and how it impacts students.  They have also been working on their pacing guides and redesigning lessons to ensure that students will dive back into learning.

Students will be working on resiliency skills during advisory for the duration of the week. The social-emotional well-being of our students is critical to their ability to focus, connect, adapt, and, ultimately, learn.  As we return to school, we are committed to maximizing our instructional time, while simultaneously considering the social-emotional needs of our students.  We know that focusing on both creates the conditions that foster resilience.

A couple of reminders

Water Bottles: Please send your student with a reusable water bottle daily. We have plenty of water on hand to refill bottles with.

Uniforms:  As we return to school, all students should be in uniform.  If you need support with uniforms (or anything else as a family), reach out to our school counselor (Jesse Mitchell, jessemitchell@icimagine.org).

Halloween: On October 31st, everyone should wear uniforms to school and save their dress up energy for Spirit Week!

Dance: We are pleased to announce that our Middle School Dance will still take place on November 1, 6-8pm.   It will be a fun way to end the first week being back together after the storm! Tickets are available for purchase through the school store on Infinite Campus for $5. Also, we are accepting donations for the middle school dance budget if you would like to contribute - look for "Dance Donations" in the middle school store in Infinite Campus.  Due to the shorter time frame for planning, this dance experience will be a little simplified, BUT it will still be tons of FUN and will include food/snacks!!

Spirit Week: We are pleased to announce that our K-12 Spirit Week, organized by our Upper School students for their Homecoming Week, has been rescheduled to the week of 11/4.

We are so excited to see you and your student Monday,

Ryan Bell & Yvonne Bourque
