Lower School Families,
We are so excited to see our Kingfishers on Monday and welcome them back to school. As a reminder, for the week of 10/28, we will be on a two hour delay schedule. Arrival will begin at 9:15 and school will start at 10. Dismissal times will be as normal.
The social-emotional well-being of our students is critical to their ability to focus, connect, adapt, and, ultimately, learn. As we return to school, we are committed to maximizing our instructional time, while simultaneously considering the social-emotional needs of our students. We know that focusing on both creates the conditions that foster resilience.
As your student returns to school, their teachers are ready to welcome them back and re-establish routines in their classrooms. Faculty have spent the last two days focused on refreshing their understanding of how to promote, maintain, and facilitate resilience in themselves and their students. They have also been working on their pacing guides and redesigning lessons.
A couple of reminders
Water Bottles: Please send your student with a reusable water bottle daily. We have plenty of water on hand to refill bottles with.
Uniforms: As we return to school, all students should be in uniform. If you need support with uniforms (or anything else as a family), reach out to our school counselors (Mr. Mark, markackerman@icimagine.org, or Mrs. Kinnaird, ashleekinnaird@icimagine.org).
Halloween: Students should not wear costumes to school on Thursday. Since Spirit Week is the week of 11/4, we ask everyone to wear their uniforms to school on 10/31 and save their dress up energy for next week.
Spirit Week: We are pleased to announce that our K-12 Spirit Week, organized by our Upper School students for their Homecoming Week, has been rescheduled to the week of 11/4.
We are so excited to see you and your student Monday,
Jamie Williams & Ellen Girardi
