Lower School

Lower School Families,

Happy Friday! We have had another wonderful week of learning here at IC Imagine. We have loved seeing your students engaged in their classrooms, moving through the building, and having a blast at recess. Several families had asked about the school supply fee.  It has been posted to your Infinite Campus account and can be paid there. Just click on Fees!  (If you wish to pay via cash or check, those can be dropped off at the front office.)

We still need your help with arrival and dismissal. We know the car line is an adjustment for everyone and appreciate everyone’s patience as we settle in. For arrival, please ensure your student is ready to exit the vehicle quickly to keep our line flowing. For dismissal, we need all lower school families to arrive during your dismissal window each day. You should plan to arrive on campus before 2:50 and after 2:20. This will help all of our families in our K-12 community to be able to pick up their students efficiently. Don’t forget, Asheville City and Buncombe County school start on Monday. Buses and more traffic on the roads will impact travel times. Please plan accordingly! Please see the reminders below specific to arrival and dismissal. Carpool information is below and the form closes today!

We have several exciting things going on in Lower School! Please plan to purchase your Grade Level Shirts by 8/31 so that your student can wear this new Spirit Wear! There is still space in all of our after school activities! These begin after Labor Day, so sign up today!! More information below. Next week, we will share the information about Junior Imagineers with our 5th grade students. We cannot wait to see this program grow in its third year!! Fifth grade families will receive more information via email.

Information Needed in Infinite Campus

To provide accurate state reports and support our families, we are required to ask each family to provide household income information annually.  Through this process, we are also able to identify families who qualify for scholarship assistance.  Eligible families can receive a discount on select field trips, school activities, fees, and vendor-provided lunches.

Please take a moment to complete your family’s form in Infinite Campus by following these steps.

  • Log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal

  • Go to the Main Menu and select "More"

  • Then select "Meal Benefits”

  • This will begin the application process

Kingfisher Krush

Cans of our custom beverage (sparkling peach-lemonade) can be purchased anytime.  $2/can or $8/4-pack.  Cash, check or credit card accepted.

Student Access

IC Imagine and the Buncombe County Public Library are partnering to support students’ ongoing education. We share the belief that a love of books and learning is a strong foundation for student success and we are working together to provide every IC Imagine student access to books and resources found at their public library.

All IC Imagine students are able to use their Student ID number to access and borrow public library books and resources. This initiative is called StudentAccess. To learn more or opt out of this service visit our website

Arrival and Dismissal

Thank you for your patience during arrival and dismissal this week. Here are a few things you can do to support our entire community:

  • In all cases:  Stay off your phone.  Do not video your students while driving away.  Stay in your vehicle (we have staff to assist).

  • Arrival:  While you are waiting on the loop, have your child(ren) unbuckle, gather his/her belongings and be prepared to exit your vehicle when you get to the sidewalk.  This small act, when done by everyone, can help us unload students faster which means cars move faster.

  • Dismissal:  Arrive at your designated time.  This means if you have a yellow or blue tag, you should not turn onto campus until 2:20.  You should not arrive on campus early to park and wait.  When cars arrive prior to 2:20, it causes a line to form which doesn’t allow for families coming to pick-up children early the ability to get into the parking lot, it can prevent emergency vehicles from arriving on campus should there be an emergency, and it creates unsafe conditions on McIntosh Road.

Carpools

We have received several inquiries asking for help in finding potential carpools.  If you are seeking assistance, complete this ride-sharing form by TODAY Friday, August 23rd.  All responses will be shared with others who submitted information in hope that you may be able to connect with another family in your area with whom to partner.

All our best,

Jamie Williams & Ellen Girardi
