Upper School Newsletter

Upper School Families,

The first week of the year has been nothing short of amazing for us here in Upper School. Our staff and students are adjusting back to their daily routines, and it's been a pleasure catching up with everyone about their Winter Break.

Join us for Coffee with Leadership next week!  We're excited to offer our Upper School parents the chance to chat with Jenn and Meg. Mark your calendars for next Thursday 1/11 during arrival (7:25-8:00 am) to take advantage of this opportunity.

Senior families, the Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) is open for 24-25. Look for more information coming in the College and Career Newsletter.  We already have college acceptances rolling in and are so excited to celebrate with our students!

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sondra Honrado and Hank Newson for taking time out of their Break to paint one of the Upper School hallways. Their hard work has had a tremendous impact on School Spirit, and our students have taken notice of their invaluable contribution.

As we settle into 2024, we're looking forward to new opportunities for growth and learning. Our teachers have been working hard to plan engaging lessons and activities that challenge and inspire our students. Additionally, we have been having discussions with our students on the significance of kindness and how it can have a lasting impact. We are also thrilled to maintain our collaboration with local organizations, providing students with opportunities to engage in community service. Next week Mrs. Mitchell’s class will be going to Manna Food Bank.

As we move into the enrollment season, we encourage you to spread the word about IC Imagine with your friends, family, and colleagues.  Please invite them to join us for Discovery Day on Saturday, February 24 from 9 am -12 pm and to check out our website to learn more about enrollment.  Stay tuned for how you can volunteer to support and be a part of Discovery Day!  Lastly, if you live somewhere, work for a company, or own a business where you can set out one of our enrollment yard signs, please stop by the office and grab one.  You can help us spread the word throughout the entire area.

If you don’t have plans tonight come and support the girls' basketball team at 6:00 pm.

Don't forget to save the date for the upcoming IPO/Parent University on Monday, January 22nd at 5:30 pm. This session will delve into supporting emotional well-being, so make sure you don't miss it!

As the weather changes, please remember our inclement weather procedures. In the event of school delays or closings, we will notify families through multiple channels, including email, text, our website (icimagine.org), IC Imagine App, social media, and News13 WLOS. However, please note that News 13 WLOS no longer sends text alerts. To receive school closing notifications, you must download the News 13 WLOS app and opt-in for notifications.

Overall, the energy and enthusiasm on campus have been contagious, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for our Upper School community.

Have a great weekend,

Jenn Townley & Meg Turner

P.S.

As the newest person here at IC Imagine, I wanted to share my appreciation.  I have felt a genuine warm welcome.  There is such a strong sense of community here. I am quickly feeling a part.  The students’ smiles have set my anxiety about being in a new place to rest.  I pledge to do everything I can to bring expectations for kindness and success.  I hope to meet many of you in person next Thursday for coffee.
