Lower School Families,

We have had another fabulous week at 110 Champion Way!  Fall is definitely upon us, which means falling temperatures, so be sure your children are bringing jackets and other outerwear to school. We go outside for recess whenever the weather allows and students need to be prepared! To ensure your child's belongings don't get lost, please label them with their name. Also, kindly note that our lost and found is cleared out and donated to a local agency every Monday.

We announced our new Junior Imagineers this week. These fifth grade students serve as student leaders for Lower School. We are so excited for this program to enter its second year!

Winter Break Activities

Several families have inquired about school-based opportunities and those offered in the community during Winter Break.  We will have information about school-based opportunities in the coming weeks.  For those in the community, places you can explore and/or contact would be Sun Soo, Zaniac, NC Arboretum, and Asheville Community Movement, just to name a few.

Fall Festival - Friday, October 20 from 5-7 pm

We can’t wait to see you tonight!  Please review our parking reminders below:

  • Parking attendants will be on hand to direct you where to park.

  • We will park cars in the Upper Lot first (gravel parking lot and along the circle where the buses are usually parked).

  • Once the Upper Lot is full, we will open parking in front of the school (Lower Lot and Lanes 1 and 3 of the drop-off/pick up loop).

  • Handicapped parking is located in the lower lot closest to the school and available for cars with handicapped license plates or handicapped placards

  • Do not park on the field located in the center of the upper lot or along McIntosh Road

Nut Aware Campus

We are a Nut Aware school. We have several students with severe nut allergies. In order to provide a safe learning environment for our children, we must closely monitor and manage what we allow into the school for lunches and snacks. We ask that you do not send any peanuts, peanut butter, or foods containing peanuts or tree nuts to be eaten for lunch or snacks here at school. Click here to read more.

PowerSchool Changes

Previously, families were asked to contact our Data Managers if they needed to modify their PowerSchool information. However, we have now streamlined the process to make it easier for families to make adjustments themselves. By logging into your student's PowerSchool account, families can update student information, including addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and more. This cannot be done through the PowerSchool App. It must be completed on a web browser. See the steps below to make any necessary changes.

  1. Log into PowerSchool

  2. Find the Year Around Form Icon on the left side and click on it.

  3. Follow the prompts to make changes
