Lower School Families,
It was a great week back from Fall Break and your children jumped right back into learning and DIVEing in. To everyone that joined us for Math Night last night, it was wonderful to see the classrooms so full of families doing math together! Thank you for joining us.
The Month of October is National Bullying Prevention month— a time to bring attention to bullying and promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion. StopBullying.gov has resources for families to use when discussing bullying at home. We use Second Step for our SEL curriculum and bullying prevention/ education. October is also Dyslexia Awareness Month. We will focus on Dyslexia during our JEDI lessons next week. If you want to learn more, there is a FREE Dyslexia 101 Webinar offered Monday, October 23 at 6:30 pm CST. Click here for more information and to register.
The Application for Educational Opportunity/College visit approved absences is now an online form and the parameters have been changed. This form can be found on our website in the Family Resources section by clicking the Attendance link.
We encourage your students to participate in our K-12 Spirit Week next week. The Upper School students will have their annual Homecoming festivities on Friday and this week is a great week to show your Kingfisher pride! While students do not have to wear a uniform on these days, they should still be wearing clothing that is appropriate for school. See the Upper School Dress Code for guidelines.
The next several weeks have lots of opportunities for our community to come together and celebrate. There are also ways you can help! See information below. Please plan to join us for the Fall Festival (10/20) and for the Lower School Showcase (11/14). Additionally, the fall theatrical productions are the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in November (More information below).
