Lower School Families,

We have had another wonderful week at 110 Champion Way!  As we made our way through lower school visiting classrooms, we saw Kingfishers engaged in their work and learning.

Our JEDI lessons this week had students talking about our identities and valuing one another’s differences. Since next week is a short week, there will not be a JEDI lesson.  The following week (week of 9/11) we will start our lessons about Hispanic Heritage Month.

Arrival and dismissal reminders and updates:

Arriving between 7:15 and 7:30 am is the FASTEST way to drop off your students. If we had more families taking advantage of the early part of arrival, our line would be empty by 7:57 each day! Thank you for DIVE-ing in with us to keep arrival as smooth as possible.

On Thursday, September 7,  we will begin recording tardies.  It is important that our students are in class for all of their instruction.  Missing five minutes each day adds up to whole school days over an entire school year.  Students must be in class at 8:00 am in order to be considered on time. To be in class by 8:00 am, they must be inside the school building by 7:57. To do this, you will need to enter our property by about 7:40 am as it takes about fifteen minutes to move through our line at its busiest.

Friendly reminder that the Lower School dismissal lines (blue and yellow car tags) open at 2:20 pm each day. Please do not show up before 2:20 PM. This backs up Champion Way and McIntosh Road and blocks access to our parking lot. Safety is our number one priority and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see you Wednesday! (And remember, Wednesday 9/6 is an Early Release!)

All our best,

Jamie Williams & Ellen Girardi
