Upper School,
We had an amazing first week here in the ImagiNation! Everyone is doing an amazing job DIVE-ing into the 2023-2024 school year.
We have enjoyed seeing familiar faces and welcoming our new students to the ImagiNation. We are all getting used to our new block schedule and enjoying having fewer transitions. Our lunch on most days is at 1:00, please encourage your students to bring a snack if they are complaining about being hungry. A reminder that students are not able to use their phones during class, please do not reach out to them during that time. If you have an emergency you are welcome to contact the front desk. We appreciate your support in allowing us to maximize instructional time with our students.
We would like to introduce our two new counselors.
Mr. Jason Frank will be working primarily with our 9th and 10th grade students with an emphasis on Social Emotional Learning for all of our Upper School students. Additionally, he will be coordinating our advisory service learning field trips. He has worked in the region for a couple of years after moving to NC from the Pacific Northwest.
Ms. April Vernau will be working primarily with 11th and 12th grade students as our College and Career Counselor. She will be coordinating our AB Tech Dual Enrollment process, as well. April moved back to the area after living in Colorado for a few years and working at one of the largest high schools in the state. She brings a great deal of expertise in preparing students for the college application process. Parents of students in 11th and 12th grade should expect to hear more from her soon, she has been coordinating information events related to post-secondary planning that you will be learning more about soon!
Please join us on Monday, August 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm on the campus of IC Imagine in our IPAC for the first of our IPO/Parent University. This series will kick off with Upper School 101. We will cover information about Attendance Requirements and the new policy, updated Expectations, and Q&A. Future topics within our Upper School Parent University series will be announced soon and largely dictated by the needs of our community. RSVP Here!
