Upper School Summer School - 2024

Who is Eligible: 

  • Credit Recovery: Credit Recovery summer school is for students who have failed a class that is a graduation requirement for the school year. Students may enroll in summer school to recover that credit to graduate. 

  • Attendance: Attendance Summer school is for students who had eight (8) or more absences in a class.  Students may attend summer school to remove the FF from their transcript. 

Dates & Times of the Program:

8:00am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday

Session 1: June 17-20 & June 24-27
Session 2*: July 8-11 & July 15-18

* Please note: Session 2 (July sessions) are only for students who need to recover a second course; otherwise, all credit recovery will take place during Session 1 (June sessions).

End of Course Testing: 

All students recovering credits for a class with an EOC (Math 1, Math 3, Biology, English 2) will attend the first two weeks of summer school: June 17-20 & June 24-27. The EOC retest will take place on June 27th. 

Expectations:

  • Students must attend all the days of their Summer School session in order to receive credit for each class. 

    • Absences: No more than 1 day and a doctor’s note is required.

  • All work for the online modules must be completed to receive credit. 

  • Any course with an EOC: Student will take a remediation course & then retest for the EOC course on June 27th.

  • All students are expected to bring lunch and snacks each day.  

  • The School Code of Conduct applies during Summer School.

Grading Policy: 

  • Students will receive a grade of Pass or Fail during summer academy (P = 60 or above.) 

  • The summer academy grade (P or F) will be printed on their high school transcript but will not replace the original grade earned; both will be reflected on the transcript 

  • Because credit recovery earns Pass/Fail, there are no GPA implications associated with credit recovery courses 

    • For students looking to improve their original grade towards their overall GPA AND recover credit, the entire course must be repeated during a subsequent school year. 

Cost: 

  • $100 per session
